Piaggio Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. has expanded its electric passenger vehicle portfolio with the launch of the new Apé WavE, an electric three-wheeler developed for the affordable L3 passenger EV segment. Designed for shared mobility, fixed-route operations and short-distance passenger transport, the new model aims to offer an accessible and dependable electric mobility solution for urban and semi-urban markets.

Powered by a 5.4 kWh battery pack, the Apé WavE delivers a peak motor output of 3 kW and 25 Nm of torque. It offers a real-world operating range of around 90 ± 5 km, a top speed of 40 kmph, 19% gradeability and can be fully charged in approximately 4.5 hours.

The vehicle features a monocoque chassis, full-metal body construction, passenger-focused suspension and low NVH levels to improve ride comfort and durability. Additional highlights include 180 mm ground clearance, a spacious passenger cabin and lower acquisition and maintenance costs aimed at improving operator profitability.

Commenting on the launch, Diego Graffi, Chairman and Managing Director, Piaggio Vehicles Pvt. Ltd., said the Apé WavE has been developed to meet the growing demand for affordable, reliable and sustainable passenger mobility solutions. Amit Sagar, Executive Vice President – CV Domestic Business and Retail Finance, added that the vehicle offers an optimal balance between acquisition cost, operating efficiency and passenger comfort for drivers and fleet operators.

The Apé WavE will be available through Piaggio dealerships across India at a starting price of ₹2.49 lakh (ex-showroom), further strengthening the company’s electric mobility portfolio in the passenger three-wheeler segment.
