Ashok Leyland has partnered with Rosmerta Recycling to facilitate the responsible scrappage of end-of-life commercial vehicles through authorised Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facilities (RVSFs) across India. The initiative is aimed at simplifying vehicle scrappage while encouraging fleet operators to transition to cleaner and more efficient commercial vehicles.

The partnership supports the Government of India’s Voluntary Vehicle Modernisation Program and complements the recently announced Naya Safar Scheme, which seeks to reduce transport-related emissions, particularly in the Delhi-NCR region.

Through its nationwide dealer network, Ashok Leyland will connect customers with Rosmerta Recycling’s authorised scrappage facilities, offering end-to-end support, including vehicle deregistration, statutory documentation and access to government-linked incentives. Customers will also benefit from competitive scrap value, OEM discounts on new vehicle purchases, and applicable road tax and registration fee waivers.

Commenting on the partnership, Madhavi Deshmukh, National Sales Head, Ashok Leyland, said the initiative will make responsible vehicle disposal simpler while enabling customers to upgrade to cleaner and more efficient commercial vehicles. Kartick Nagpal, President, Rosmerta Group, said organised scrappage through authorised facilities will play a crucial role in reducing emissions, strengthening the circular economy and supporting the government’s commercial vehicle replacement initiatives.

The collaboration reflects both companies’ commitment to promoting sustainable mobility, scientific vehicle recycling and resource recovery while supporting the modernisation of India’s commercial vehicle fleet.
