Michelin has strengthened its retail footprint in Chennai with the opening of four new Michelin Tyre and Services (MTS) outlets in Gopalapuram, Adyar, Tambaram-Selaiyur and Maduravoyal. The expansion comes alongside the recent launch of Michelin’s Made-in-India Primacy 5 tyres, aimed at bringing premium tyre solutions and professional automotive services closer to customers across the city.
The new outlets have been developed in line with Michelin’s global retail identity, featuring modern showrooms, dedicated tyre display areas, multiple service bays, advanced equipment and customer lounges. The stores are designed to provide customers with a more organised and consistent tyre-buying and servicing experience.

In Gopalapuram, Michelin has partnered with Lal Enterprises, a tyre industry player established in 1987. The outlet strengthens access to Michelin’s products and services across central Chennai’s residential and commercial areas.
The Adyar outlet, operated in partnership with RR Tyres, caters to customers across South Chennai, including Besant Nagar, Thiruvanmiyur, ECR and OMR. RR Tyres brings 36 years of experience in the tyre business to the partnership.
In Tambaram-Selaiyur, the new MTS outlet has been launched with Rao Tyres. Established in 1992, the company operates three outlets in Chennai and has been associated with Michelin for more than two decades. The new store expands Michelin’s reach across the city’s growing southern corridors.

The fourth outlet, located in Maduravoyal, has been opened in partnership with Lal Tyre Centre. Its location near the Chennai Bypass provides connectivity to several industrial and commercial areas in western Chennai. Lal Tyre Centre brings more than 25 years of industry experience.
Commenting on the expansion, Shantanu Deshpande, Managing Director, Michelin India, said, “India’s premium mobility landscape is evolving rapidly, and Chennai stands at the forefront of this shift, with growing demand for high-performance, safe and sustainable mobility solutions across sedans, SUVs and electric vehicles. The launch of four Michelin Tyre Service stores in a single city reflects the strength of this opportunity and our commitment to bringing world-class mobility solutions closer to our customers.”
He added that the new outlets will support the availability of Michelin’s Made-in-India Primacy 5, developed and manufactured for Indian road conditions, while strengthening the company’s service ecosystem in the country.

Chennai remains an important market for Michelin, serving both as a major consumer market and a manufacturing base. With premium vehicle ownership increasing and customers increasingly seeking organised tyre and automotive service facilities, the four new outlets expand Michelin’s presence across the city’s central, southern and western corridors.
The expansion also adds to Michelin’s wider retail network in Tamil Nadu, as the company continues to focus on tyre performance, safety, comfort and sustainability for Indian motorists.
