Scania and Doosan have signed an agreement to extend their co-operation in the area of generator engines. As per the agreement, Scania will supply engines for two new Doosan generators. The two new generators – G400 and G500, premiered at the Bauma 2016 held at Munich (Germany) recently. The G400 is fitted with a Scania DC13 engine and does 400 kVA of prime power. The G500 is fitted with a Scania DC16 engine that does 500 kVA of prime power. The decision to use Scania engines was taken are testing them rigorously and ascertaining that they meet Doosan expectations in terms of reliability, outstanding performance and high fuel efficiency. Doosan Infracore, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of construction equipment, already uses Scania’s engines in its wide range of wheel loaders, excavators and articulated dump trucks. Doosan has a wholly owned subsidiary in India, Doosan Infracore India and Doosan Power Systems India. They deal in construction equipment among other products.
