The wait for low floor air conditioned city bus service in Noida and Greater Noida will soon be over. If the officials of the state transport department are to be believed, a notification of the scheme will be out soon. After getting approvals from the regional transport department of Meerut, the file of the city bus service is known to have moved to Lucknow. The 100 low floor, CNG air-conditioned city buses (claimed to be made by JBM) will be registered with the regional transport office on the scheme being notified. In-line with the agreement signed by the Noida Authority and the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) for the launch of the low floor AC buses, the NMRC is said to have entered into an agreement with Empire Transport Service in January 2016. The buses, once available, will ply on important sectors in Noida and Greater Noida. They will cover routes like the Noida-Greater Noida expressway, Dadri-Surajpur-Chhalera (DSC) road, Noida’s Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Phase-II and Surajpur industrial area amongst others. For parking, NMRC has selected a five acre land parcel in Sector 82. Some 242 city bus shelters are also said to have been planned in Noida and Greater Noida. They would feature a public address system apart from providing ease of access to the elderly and differently abled. Low floor AC city bus service for Noida copy
