Busworld North America 2023 was the first Busworld event in North America, held in Detroit in February 2023. Exhibitors included ABC Companies, which presented the Van Hool CX35 electric coach, as well as the Sunset Ford Transit Van EV, MCI’s J3500 and J4500 Clean Diesel, and Temsa’s TS45, powered by a Cummins X12 engine. Mercedes-Benz showcased its Tourrider, a 45ft coach with an OM471 engine and safety features, while Prevost launched the H3-45, a luxury coach with a Volvo D13 engine and safety and performance features. Ultra Coach presented a 45ft luxury vehicle on a Freightliner platform. At the Busworld Conference, the key topics were the energy transition and the North American market situation, including the slow adoption of zero-emission vehicles, the lack of infrastructure, and the need for energy management systems. Insurance companies are still collecting data to insure battery electric or hydrogen buses and their charging and fuelling infrastructure.
