Porter, an Indian logistics startup, has launched its tech-enabled logistics services in Kochi, Kerala, to facilitate the efficient and secure movement of goods within the city. The company will initially onboard local driver partners for its on-demand three-wheeler services, with plans to introduce other vehicle categories in the future. The move comes as the global supply chain shifts, increasing the demand for logistics services in tier-II and tier-III cities such as Kochi. Porter’s entry into the market will create job opportunities for gig workers who own their own vehicles, providing a potential hub for employment generation. The startup’s flexible work model allows driver-partners to choose their own hours, ensuring a consistent flow of income. With a focus on an empathetic approach, Porter aims to improve the lives of owner-drivers by providing them with financial access and independence. Founded in 2014, Porter has serviced over 1 crore customers across 18 cities in India with a workforce of 2,600 employees.
