Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) has introduced four new medium-duty trucks under the BharatBenz brand. The trucks, christened as ‘MD IN-POWER’, include the 914R, 1214R, 1214RE and 1217C. The 914R is powered by a 134 hp, 4-litre four-cylinder diesel engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission, and has a payload capacity of 6320 kg. Powered by the same engine, and mated to a six-speed manual transmission, the 1214R and 1214RE have a payload capacity of 7690 kg each. The 1217C 4×2 tipper is also powered by a 134 hp, 4-litre four-cylinder diesel engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission, and has a GVW of 13000 kg. The tipper body is of 6.6 cu. m. Equipped with an innovative Multi Drive Mode (MDM) feature, which allows drivers to optimise engine settings with the push of a button, the four medium-duty trucks are claimed to offer superior fuel efficiency and longer service intervals. The trucks are available in BS III, BS IV and Euro V guise.
