Precision Camshafts has acquired Emoss Mobile Systems of Netherlands. With a visibility to scale up business five times in four years, the acquisition would pave the way for Emoss to foray in the electric mobility space. With Emoss specialising in electric powertrains, Precision Camshafts, will get access to electrical mobility markets in Europe, North America and Australia. Apart from the advanced electromobility markets of the world, Precision Camshafts, with the acquisition of Emoss, could also look at an opportunity to enter the Indian market to address the growing electromobility needs, especially in the CV space. With manufacturers like BYD and Solaris entering India, and into the electric bus market, the acquisition of Emoss, which posted a turnover of Euro-six million in 2017, and grew at a CAGR of over 100 per cent in the last three years, should present Precision Camshafts an opportunity to cater to the electric vehicle manufacturers as the count of IC engines shrinks. As per the acquisition agreement, Emoss promoters will continue to hold 49 per cent of the stake, and will be actively involved in day-to-day activities. Emoss will capitalise on the financial bandwidth of Precision for its working capital requirements to drive future growth. Precision’s global sales and engineering network, close relationships with leading OEMs and strong know-how in lean manufacturing will help Emoss to rapidly scale up.
