The ISO TS 16949:2009 certification encompasses development of a quality management system, which delves upon the plant demonstrating continual improvement, emphasising defect prevention and reduction of variation and waste.
The ISO TS 16949:2009 certification denotes that the organization meets the needs of the customers and other stakeholders, while meeting statutory and regulatory requirements related to the product. A wide range of tyres are manufactured at the Michelin plant at Chennai. A big chunk of the tyres includes commercial vehicle radials. Claiming to invent radial tyre technology, Michelin does not manufacture bias-ply tyres; neither in India.
