The first set of the BharatBenz staff buses from Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) were delivered to customers in Mumbai. These are 9-tonne, 39 seater BharatBenz model that is available in BS III and BS IV form. The front engine bus is said to feature ABS, front and rear anti-roll bars, and is made from fire retardant materials. The emergency exits on this bus are strategically placed. As the roll out of buses gathers pace, they would be routed to customers through BharatBenz’ 80 dealerships across India. Customers will be offered tailor made service packages and a 24×7 after sales support with an advanced interactive vehicle diagnosis. Vehicle insurance, cashless facility and a full maintenance contract will be offered too. While the front engine buses are aimed at school, staff and tourist transportation, the premium segment buses, under the Mercedes-Benz brand will continue to be address the premium inter-city transportation market. The Mercedes-Benz buses are rear engine, multi-axle designs.
