Noida’s power infrastructure is poised for a significant transformation. By the end of December 2025, the city will begin a major overhaul of its ageing electrical network, backed by a Rs. 97 crore budget. This initiative includes replacing old cables and poles, strengthening transformers, and upgrading key substations. With surveys completed and tenders soon to be issued, the project is targeted for completion by March 2026.

This annual maintenance effort will run parallel to a much larger modernisation push under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) and the SCADA rollout. Over the next three years, Noida has been allocated Rs. 1,313 crore to build a long-term, future-ready power ecosystem. Key investment areas include:

  • Rs. 892 crore for system augmentation
  • Rs. 396 crore for SCADA implementation
  • Rs. 25 crore for integration of smart technologies

The upgrades will deliver new 33/11 kV substations, modern transformers, strengthened distribution networks, advanced control rooms and real-time monitoring systems. These improvements are designed to serve both rapidly growing zones along the Noida Expressway and older sectors with outdated infrastructure.
