Ashok Leyland, the Indian flagship of the Hinduja Group and one of the country’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, has inaugurated a new Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) dealership in Thiruvananthapuram. This marks the sixth LCV outlet for the company in Kerala. The dealership, operated by Capital Trucks, is a 3S facility (Sales, Service and Spares) located at Vembayam, Kanyakulangara, Thiruvananthapuram.

The facility is equipped with modern tools, ten quick service bays and upgraded infrastructure to deliver a better customer experience. The product range available at the outlet includes BADA DOST, DOST, SAATHI, PARTNER and MiTR.
Speaking on the development, Mr. Viplav Shah, Head – LCV Business, Ashok Leyland Ltd. said, that Kerala has been an important market for the company. He added that the success of the DOST and BADA DOST, along with the introduction of SAATHI, demonstrates the trust customers have in the brand and the strength of its expanding network. According to him, best-in-class mileage, performance and service standards have helped the company achieve a 70% customer retention rate even beyond the warranty period. He said this milestone not only adds to the company’s network but also reflects its aim to lead Kerala’s mobility transformation with reliable products and long-term value for customers.
Ashok Leyland introduced its LCV range to address the changing requirements of Indian buyers, combining technology with competitive pricing. Today, more than 5.5 lakh of its LCVs are in operation across the country. Recently, the company also entered the sub-2-ton category with the launch of Ashok Leyland SAATHI, a premium entry-level small commercial vehicle. Powered by a 45 hp engine producing 110 Nm of torque, the SAATHI comes with the largest load area in its segment and a payload of 1,120 kg.
BADA DOST, the first model to be built on an all-new LCV platform, is available in five variants – i2, i3+, i4, i5 and i5XL. It runs on an 80 hp BS6 engine and offers strong mileage, payload capacity and load body length. With a low turning radius and high ground clearance, the vehicle is designed to handle both urban and rural applications with ease. The DOST range is also offered in XL and DOST+ XL versions to suit different needs.
The PARTNER truck, positioned in the 4-ton payload category, is available in both four-tyre and six-tyre formats with load body options of 10ft, 11ft, 14ft and 17ft. Based on an internationally acclaimed platform and powered by the ZD30 CRDI engine, it focuses on fuel efficiency and durability. The MiTR bus, built on the same platform, is offered in staff and school bus versions, meeting all safety standards while providing comfort and efficiency.
All LCVs, including BADA DOST, DOST, SAATHI, PARTNER and MiTR, are manufactured at Ashok Leyland’s Hosur plant. Pricing for the models begins at ₹7,19,999 for SAATHI, ₹8,77,000 for DOST XL/DOST+XL, ₹10,45,000 for BADA DOST i5, ₹10,75,000 for BADA DOST i3+XL, ₹10,85,000 for BADA DOST i5XL, ₹17,80,000 for PARTNER, and ₹27,00,000 for MiTR Bus (all prices ex-showroom).
