Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, India’s leader in commercial mobility, today unveiled its most advanced intercity platform yet the Tata LPO 1822 bus chassis. Designed to elevate long-haul passenger transport, the LPO 1822 embodies a powerful blend of comfort, performance and operational efficiency, reinforcing Tata Motors’ leadership in shaping the future of mass mobility.
The LPO 1822 is engineered to deliver exceptional ride quality through its full-air suspension system and low NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) levels, ensuring fatigue-free journeys for passengers and drivers. With flexible seating configurations from 36 to 50 seats and sleeper layouts it caters to the diverse needs of fleet operators across India’s rapidly growing intercity transport landscape.

Powering the new chassis is a proven 5.6-litre Cummins diesel engine that produces 220 hp and 925 Nm of torque, ensuring an ideal balance between strong performance and optimal fuel efficiency. The LPO 1822 also serves as the foundation for the premium Tata Magna Coach, offering best-in-class safety, comfort, and a seamless travel experience.
