Mahindra & Mahindra displayed a range of affordable Construction Equipment Vehicles (CEVs) at the Excon 2K21. Aimed at smaller projects run by smaller contractors, the company according to Jalaj Gupta, Business Head, Commercial Vehicles Business Unit, Mahindra & Mahindra Limited, wants to enhance its market share with products like the RoadMaster G75 Smart. Averred Gupta, “The existing RoadMaster range of motor graders has already captured over 20 per cent market share, and we are confident that G75 Smart will further strengthen our position while transforming the construction of small roads in India, which constitute nearly 60 per cent of the roads in the country.” In line with the strategy, Mahindra Construction Equipment has expanded its range. Positioned for spreading and grading applications on rural, semi-rural, and district roads, as well as for land development, internal housing, and commercial roads, the company also showcased the Mahindra EarthMaster VX and EarthMaster SX SMART Backhoe Loaders, Roadmaster G9075 and RoadMaster G9595 Motor Graders.
The new launch of RoadMaster G75 Smart draws from the DNA of the erstwhile RoadMaster with the proto first showcased in 2016. Building on the proposition of affordable mechanisation, the G75 draws its power from a 74 hp Common Rail Diesel Injection (CRDi) CEV IV engine that generates 345 Nm of torque in the 1200-1500 rpm range. Its auxiliary attachments include a three-metre (10 ft.) wide blade with a 50-degree rotation angle. The compatible hydraulic pump comes with a higher maximum pressure of around 20MPa. Taking its utility to the next level, Mahindra has integrated the hardware with the iMAXX telematics solution which relays crucial performance metric like service reminders, and geo-fencing alerts to the operator. The G75 comes with a one-year manufacturer warranty. The CEVs were accompanied by the HCV range which encompassed the BlazoX 28 transit mixer and the BlazoX 35 tipper with a 22 Cu. m loading capacity. The Furio 7 tipper and the fuel bowser made up the I&LCV range with the Supro mobile service unit and the Bolero Camper pickup making their presence felt. Mahindra additionally showcased three CEV engines. The company drew attention with a 170-265 hp range Stage IV stock engine. It also displayed a Stage V engine with a 55-110 hp range customisable for the respective duty cycles. The company also displayed a 4.8-litre 135-170 hp range engine which can be used for wheel loaders, excavators, etc. The company also displayed after treatment solutions including Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC), Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) suitable for 7.2ltr 265hp stage IV and stage V engines.
