Fuso trucks built by Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), Chennai, under contract from Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), Japan, have found their way to the South African market. South Africa is the 14th market to witness the arrival of Indian made Fuso trucks after DICV started exporting them in May 2013. As part of Daimler’s Asian strategy, the Indian made Fuso trucks found their way to South Africa post a rigorous tested regime under the most strenuous driving conditions to ensure maximum reliability of the trucks. Claimed to be robust, and fuel efficient, the trucks are expected to enhance the business potential of South African buyers. Daimler will export light and medium-duty trucks before it looks at other products of Indian origin.
