The centre provides healthcare, wellbeing and road safety services for truck drivers, with the company planning eight centres across major freight corridors by 2028.
Bridgestone India has inaugurated its fourth Bridgestone Sarthi Support Centre (BSSC) in Indore, expanding its efforts to provide accessible healthcare and wellbeing services to truck drivers. Strategically located on the Agra–Bombay Road, the centre offers healthcare and safety services for India’s trucking community. The facility provides physiotherapy, primary care, counselling, mental wellbeing support, preventive awareness, and tyre and road safety education.
Established in partnership with Smile Foundation, the centre is part of Bridgestone India’s Project Sarthi, through which the company has been supporting truck drivers with healthcare, vision screening, road safety awareness and skill development programmes. These initiatives have reached more than 72,500 beneficiaries to date, with nearly 95% belonging to the trucking community.
Speaking at the inauguration, Uday Wagde, Executive Director – Manufacturing Operations, Bridgestone India, said the company’s initial efforts focused on training, healthcare and vision screening camps for truck drivers. Over time, feedback from drivers highlighted the need for support beyond periodic camps.

Wagde said the message from drivers was clear: support should be available whenever a driver needs it, rather than only when a camp is organised. He added that Indore was a natural choice for the expansion.
The Indore centre is the fourth in Bridgestone India’s Sarthi Support Centre network, following facilities in Pune, Maharashtra; Sangagiri, Salem, Tamil Nadu; and Kalamboli, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.
The initiative aligns with Bridgestone’s global commitment to road safety and sustainable mobility while advancing preventive healthcare and community wellbeing for India’s transport workforce.
