Tata Motors showcased its widest-ever commercial vehicle portfolio at an event in Cape Town, South Africa, highlighting the company’s growing focus on international markets, electric mobility, and application-led commercial vehicle solutions across cargo and passenger mobility segments.

The showcase featured 11 commercial vehicles spanning last-mile delivery, regional haulage, mining, construction, staff transportation, school mobility, and electric mobility applications. The line-up included next-generation electric commercial vehicles alongside conventional platforms designed for varied operating conditions across international markets.

Among the major highlights was the all-new Ultra Prime RE, a rear-engine intra-city bus developed for urban passenger transport applications with emphasis on passenger comfort and operational efficiency. Tata Motors also showcased the Azura range of intermediate and light-duty trucks designed for regional and inter-city haulage operations.

The electric vehicle portfolio included the Tata Ace Pro EV for last-mile cargo movement, Tata Intra EV pickup, Tata Ultra E.9 light electric truck, and the Prima E28.K electric tipper developed for mining and construction applications.

Speaking at the showcase, Asif Shamim, Head – International Business, Tata Motors Ltd., said the displayed portfolio reflects Tata Motors’ continued focus on developing relevant and application-specific mobility solutions for global markets.

“This showcase reflects our continued focus on developing relevant, application-led mobility solutions for our international markets. The portfolio presented here demonstrates the range of platforms and technologies we are building across segments, including electric vehicles, tailored to different use cases and operating conditions,” said Shamim.

He further added that the showcased range reflects the company’s engineering and product development capabilities focused on delivering practical, reliable, and productivity-oriented mobility solutions across diverse operating environments.

The event also highlighted Tata Motors’ expanding footprint across Sub-Saharan Africa, where the company currently operates in 29 countries through regional partners including Tata International, Panafrique Motors, KOMCO Motors, and Allied Motors.

According to the company, Tata Motors has sold over 3,40,000 commercial vehicles in the region and currently offers more than 60 models across multiple configurations. The company supports its operations through a network of over 320 touchpoints and seven assembly operations across South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia.

From an industry perspective, the showcase underlines the growing demand for application-specific commercial vehicles, electrified cargo solutions, and lower total cost of ownership products across emerging international markets.

The simultaneous presence of electric and conventional platforms also reflects how commercial vehicle manufacturers are balancing electrification goals with operational practicality across sectors such as urban logistics, passenger mobility, mining, construction, and regional transport operations.
