Ashok Leyland, the flagship of the Hinduja Group and one of India’s top commercial vehicle manufacturers, is doubling down on its presence in North India with a major expansion push. The company has announced plans to add more than 50 new customer touchpoints across Delhi and surrounding regions this year, further cementing its reach and support network in the country’s largest commercial vehicle market.

Already operating close to 300 channel outlets in North India, Ashok Leyland is eyeing rapid growth in a region that has become increasingly important due to booming infrastructure development, rising freight needs, and sustained economic momentum.

“North India is the biggest market for commercial vehicles, accounting for over a third of the industry’s total volume,” said Sanjeev Kumar, President of the M&HCV (Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicle) division at Ashok Leyland. “We have always seen immense potential here and are excited about what lies ahead. In the last three years, we’ve grown our market share by nearly 6.5 per cent, and we are committed to building on that progress by staying focused on customer satisfaction and offering the best total cost of ownership in the industry.”

Delhi, in particular, stands out as a critical part of Ashok Leyland’s strategy. As India’s national capital and a major hub for logistics and infrastructure, the city plays a central role in driving demand for medium and heavy commercial vehicles. The company believes its portfolio of reliable and efficient vehicles is well-suited to meet the needs of businesses and transport operators in the region.

Ashok Leyland’s latest move reflects a broader push to modernise and grow through innovation and customer-centric service.
