Volvo CE India expands the CEV IV range. Prateek Pardeshi looks at the new additions to the range launched late last year.
Volvo Construction Equipment India (Volvo CE) wants to leave its mark on the infrastructure development in India. To further this aspiration, the company expanded its CEV IV compliant range first launched in November 2021. The company lined up a total of seven CEVs which comprised of four road construction vehicles and three excavators. Highlighting safety, reliability and fuel efficiency as core differentiators of the range. Commenting on the launch, Dimitrov Krishnan, Managing Director, Volvo CE India Pvt. Ltd., and Co-Chairman, Excon, said, “The portfolio of our products and services is matched by the ever-expanding horizons – we are constantly innovating to meet our customers’ future needs.” Committed to the growth, sustainability and advancement in technology, Melker Jernberg, President of Volvo Construction Equipment, flagged off the uptime centre and simulator on wheels.
Road machines and excavators
The SD 110 CD soil compactor has an operating weight of 12-tonne, powered by a CEV IV 99 hp VECV engine (we think it is the EE494, four-cylinder, 3.8-litre engine). The P7320 ABG track paver is the latest to join the paver range in India. The made-in-India track paver has an operating weight of 23-tonne, powered by the D6J 188 hp engine at 2800 rpm. It offers a 300mm paving thickness and a three- to nine-metre paving width. The DD 90C Asphalt Compactor has an operating weight of 9.6-tonne powered by a 74 hp VECV E483 TCI CEV-IV engine. It has a dual-frequency setting of 36-50 Hz which is known to aid the engine to adjust its output based on the job requirement besides facilitating higher roller speeds. It also aids in reducing vibration system power consumption by 50 per cent. It offers a 54-79 kN centrifugal force. Operators can look forward to a 4.3-inch LCD display to showcase critical metrics like speed, impact spacing metre, trip metre, total working hours, engine rpm and the coolant temperature. The L 120H wheel loader comes with an operating weight of 21-24-tonne and is powered by a 273 hp D8J CEV-IV engine. It has a static tipping load at a full turn of 13.5-tonne. It has a 3.6 Cu. m. bucket capacity equipped with ROPS and FOPS tilt able cabin, a rear view camera and the patented TP linkage. The company also showcased the EC300DL BH excavator has an operating weight of ~ 33-tonne and is powered by a Volvo tier3, 231 hp D7E engine. The EC 480D with Vibro Ripper comes with a 52-58-tonne operating weight and is powered by the 335 hp D13 engine.The EC 200D comes with a 21-22-tonne operating weight powered by a 165 hp D5 engine.
