A standalone bus unit of Volvo, Volvo Buses India, has merged with Volvo India, effective December 31, 2015. VRV Sriprasad will continue to lead the Volvo Bus business in India, and report to Akash Passey, Senior Vice President, Volvo Bus Corporation. The move is aimed at building a unified legal entity. Kamal Bali, Managing Director, Volvo India, said, “Given the circumstances, it is quite natural for all businesses and brands of the Group to be part of a unified legal organisation in order to harness synergies, competencies, create greater efficiency and responsiveness at the back-end, leading to better customer experience.” With the move, Volvo India will now hold most of the manufacturing and business units under it.
