Tata Motors has launched the Ultra range in Kenya. In a bid to set a benchmark in the LCV segment, the company is banking on Ultra’s capability to cater to payloads between four and 11-tonne. Powered by a turbocharged intercooled four-cylinder diesel engine that does 125 hp and 400 Nm of torque, the Ultra range is one of the most modern to come out of the company. Transmission is a G500 six-speed unit. “Having successfully launched Tata Prima range of trucks in East Africa and South Africa last year, we hope to repeat the same with the Ultra,” averred Rudrarup Maitra, Head – Commercial Vehicles, International Business, Tata Motors. The Ultra was voted as the ‘CV of the Year’ by the Apollo CV awards 2015.
