Tata Motors and Tata International, the global trading and distribution arm of the Tata Group, have unveiled their new Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF) in Pune. Branded Re.Wi.Re – Recycle with Respect, this state-of-the-art center is built to dismantle up to 21,000 end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) annually while adhering to environmentally sustainable practices.

Managed by Tata International Vehicle Applications (TIVA), a subsidiary of Tata International, the facility caters to scrapping passenger and commercial vehicles across all brands.

During the launch event, Mr. Girish Wagh, Executive Director of Tata Motors, emphasized:
Tata Motors is committed to shaping the future of mobility by delivering value through innovative products, services, and digital solutions. With Re.Wi.Re, we are driving the shift towards a circular economy by employing advanced recycling methods. This facility not only maximizes value recovery from end-of-life vehicles but also aligns with India’s sustainability goals. Partnering with Tata International, we are excited to strengthen our collaboration through this pioneering initiative.

Mr. Rajeev Batra, CEO of Tata International Vehicle Applications, highlighted the importance of the initiative, stating:
This facility marks a significant step toward revolutionizing vehicle lifecycle management in India. Designed to dismantle 21,000 vehicles annually, it meets the growing demand for safe and efficient vehicle recycling. By focusing on end-of-life vehicle management, we aim to create a sustainable and organized ecosystem that supports India’s push for cleaner and more regulated recycling practices. At TIVA, we are dedicated to reaching greater heights and delivering the best possible services to the communities we serve.

The Re.Wi.Re facility focuses on dismantling passenger and commercial vehicles using environmentally responsible methods. This initiative is part of a larger network of five operational centers across Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Surat, Chandigarh, and Delhi NCR.

Fully digitized for seamless and paperless operations, each Re.Wi.Re center incorporates cell-type and line-type dismantling systems for vehicles. Dedicated stations ensure safe handling and disposal of materials such as tires, batteries, fuels, oils, liquids, and gases. Vehicles are processed through rigorous documentation and dismantling protocols, ensuring compliance with India’s vehicle scrappage policies.

The Re.Wi.Re model signifies a forward-thinking approach to sustainable practices within the automotive industry, driving India toward a cleaner and more organized recycling framework.
