Sonalika International Tractors Ltd. (SITL) unveiled the Solis 120 tractor. Claimed to be a first of its kind 120 hp tractor, it will be exported to the European and African markets. It will especially cater to commercial farming. Aimed at application in sugarcane fields in particular, the tractor boasts of an ergonomic design. It is powered by a six-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine mated to a 24+24 gearbox. The heavy-duty gearbox is claimed to facilitate 4500 kg load lifting capacity. Deepak Mittal, MD, SITL, drew attention to representing the only company in India to have exported tractors to over 24 European countries. He stated SITL to be a market leader in countries like Algeria with a 60 per cent market share. In Nepal and Bangladesh, the company according to Mittal holds 22 per cent and 20 per cent market shares respectively.. “With Solis 120 we are targeting a five per cent growth globally,” stated Mittal.
