In a bid to improve the last-mile connectivity of Delhi commuters, the state transport department has introduced a passenger-friendly app in association with international agencies and private entities. The app was developed by Panasonic India Innovation Centre (IIC) in association with the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), the Transport Department, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), the Government of NCT of Delhi, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and ETO Motors Private Limited (ETO Motors) has introduced an international Demonstration Project – Sojo passenger app. Aimed to improve traffic congestion and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by enhancing passenger’s convenience and transportation efficiency, the Sojo app can be used to book e-autos from Kalkaji Mandir Delhi metro station in addition to three other nearby stations (Okhla NSIC, Nehru Enclave, and Nehru Place) to their destination. The passenger app offers users the facility to reserve seats with merely two taps on the app. The app allows up to three passengers to share a single e-mobility unit using the ride-sharing service, saving users money compared to using the single-ride service.
