Tata Motors has announced the appointment of Shailesh Chandra as the president of newly created electric mobility business vertical. As President — Electric Mobility Business & Corporate Strategy, Chandra will help Tata Motors to capture opportunities arising out of the new mobility trends, and to bring organisational focus and alignment. Continuing to be a member of the Executive Committee, Chandra will get Tata Motors to address the changing needs in the EV space by providing innovative and competitive e-mobility solutions. Chandra, according to Guenter Butschek, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, Tata Motors, played an instrumental role in leading the project teams to deliver the EESL project and has been closely working with some of the Group companies and other ecosystem partners in his current role.
Expressing that Tata Motors is optimistic about the future of EVs and would play a leading role in the electric mobility evolution in the country, Butschek averred that they will leverage the capabilities of other Tata Group companies to develop the full ecosystem and fast track the adoption of emobility.
