Scania turned 125 in 2016. Founded as a privately owned wagon-building company in 1891, the company has come to become one of the major commercial vehicle manufacturers the world over. A part of the Volkswagen Group, the Swedish CV maker has come to offer a range of trucks and buses thar are modern, innovative and versatile. With a presence in India, and having set up a manufacturing facility to produce trucks and buses in India, Scania has been contributing to global sustainable transport. The company has been driving products that run on alternate fuels in an effort to lower emissions and the total operating costs. Introducing connectivity as standard in the European markets five years ago, Scania is one of the few CV makers in the world to have almost 170,000 connected trucks and buses by 2015. In 2015 alone, almost 70,000 connected trucks and buses were added. As of current, the company has connected customers in more than 50 countries. They gain access to services in order to follow up and evaluate the performance of their vehicles.
