This Holi, Zomato’s Blinkit and Swiggy’s Instamart saw a remarkable surge in business as Indians turned to quick commerce platforms for their festive needs, including colours, water guns, and flowers. Blinkit’s founder, Albinder Dhindsa, revealed that they hit record-high orders and OPM, showcasing heightened activity on the platform. Instamart reported a fivefold increase in flower sales compared to last year, with a user spending over Rs 5,000 on Holi essentials. Phani Kishan A, head of Instamart, noted a rush of gulaal orders, reaching a peak of 444 gulals per minute. Notably, consumers expanded their purchases beyond essentials, with Zepto observing a surge in orders for white T-shirts, reflecting the evolving trend of online festive shopping.
