Hinduja Group Signs LOI to Expand Investments in Defence, Energy, Automotive, and Digital Technology in the Philippines

Mumbai, August 8, 2025 – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. of the Philippines, during his official visit to India, met with the Hinduja Group delegation led by Shom Hinduja, to explore avenues for expanded economic collaboration. The meeting marked a key step in enhancing bilateral relations and advancing strategic investments across high-priority sectors.Following the meeting, Hinduja Global Solutions (HGS), a leading business process management company of the Hinduja Group, signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with the Philippine Government to expand its presence in the country. The Group also expressed its intent to explore emerging opportunities in Defence, Energy, Automotive, and Digital Technology sectors identified as key pillars of the Philippines’ future growth.

Automotive Expansion with Ashok Leyland
The Group announced that the first batch of 50 Ashok Leyland Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) will be locally assembled and delivered in the Philippines. This marks a major milestone in the Group’s automotive strategy, aligning with the local government’s push for industrial development and job creation.

HGS to Expand BPO and Digital Services
HGS, which began operations in the Philippines in 2003, currently operates across Manila NCR, Iloilo, and Cebu with over 3,500 employees. The LOI signals plans for a significant expansion of its Customer Experience (CX) and digital services operations, backed by the Philippines’ skilled workforce and robust infrastructure.
Legacy in Energy
Since 1998, the Hinduja Group has operated Gulf Oil Philippines Inc. (GOPi), a joint venture with the Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC). The state-of-the-art plant manufactures and distributes Gulf-branded lubricants and products that meet global standards and OEM approvals.This renewed commitment underscores the Hinduja Group’s long-standing role as a trusted partner in the Philippines’ economic development and its vision for sustained collaboration in emerging and future-ready sectors.
