The Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has constituted a three member committee to prepare a policy framework for taxi and other transport operators. Considering the recent development regarding diesel taxi in the NCR region, a group of taxi and transport operators are known to have met the MoRTH minister Nitin Gadkari. The outcome of the meeting is said to be the decision to form a committee that will submit policy recommendations in a time bound manner. The committee, claim industry sources, will be headed by the MoRTH secretary, MoRTH joint secretary and the transport commissioner of Delhi.
