Petronas Lubricants International (PLI) has launched Petronas Urania, its flagship commercial vehicle lubricant, claimed to be formulated to effectively guard against engine deposit build-up. The commercial vehicle lube is also claimed to prevent abrasive wear and oxidation by maintaining optimal oil viscosity. Giuseppe Pedretti, Chief Commercial Officer of PLI, is said to have mentioned that the lube is a result of his company’s global research intiatives. Claimed to offer superior performance by maintaining oil viscosity under high soot conditions, the lube, according to sources, controls carbon built-up. PLI has entered India as part of its strategic growth objective to be one of the world’s top lubricant manufacturers by 2019. The global lubricants market is projected to be worth USD 166.59 billion by 2021.
