Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Ltd (MLMML) has once again underlined its dominance in the electric commercial vehicle (CV) segment, retaining leadership through August 2025. The milestone builds on a consistent run at the top for the last three fiscal years, a position secured by the company’s early commitment to electrification.

MLMML took a decisive step in 2018 by entering the L5 EV category, well before much of the industry had recognised its potential. That first-mover advantage not only paved the way for other legacy OEMs and start-ups but also established Mahindra as India’s No.1 commercial EV manufacturer. Today, its portfolio spans the Treo, Zor Grand, e-Alfa, Treo Yaari, Treo Zor and the Mahindra ZEO four-wheeler.

The impact of this strategy is evident in the numbers. More than 10,000 commercial EVs were sold in August 2025 alone, a figure that has contributed significantly to rising EV penetration. Year-to-date, electrification in the L5 category stands at 32.2%, with MLMML commanding a 36.9% share. Within the L5M EV sub-segment, the share rises to 40.7%. In August, the company held a 38.2% share across all L5 three-wheeler EVs, consolidating its leadership position.

Growth has been striking. The brand has posted an 82% increase in L5 EV sales compared with the previous year. Cumulatively, MLMML has sold more than 2.7 lakh EVs to date, with the most recent one lakh units achieved in just 15 months — a reflection of strong customer acceptance.

Despite intensifying competition, Mahindra’s position has been reinforced by its technologically advanced, customer-centric products designed for performance, comfort and profitability. Equally important is the company’s extensive dealer and service network, providing customers with seamless access to both sales and aftersales support.

Complementing this is the innovative UDAY NXT programme, which offers a host of benefits including ₹20 lakh accidental insurance cover. The initiative strengthens the company’s customer connect, ensuring representation and support, particularly for those who may otherwise feel marginalised.

Mahindra’s consistent performance in the commercial EV market demonstrates not only the brand’s foresight but also its ability to sustain leadership in a fast-evolving sector.
