KWE India, a subsidiary of Kintetsu World Express (KWE), has launched ‘Air Ride Truck’ service. The service, offered in Japan and China, is claimed to have higher shock absorbency ratio and provides a smooth truck and trailer ride. ‘Air Ride Truck’ is actually a suspension system, which works on the principle of a bladder or bag of compressed air replacing standard steel springs. Compression damage and telescoping are eliminated according to Mineo Suzuki, Managing Director, KWE India. He adds, “The suspension system addresses the needs of superior logistics and goods transport, and is ideal for high value goods like aerospace products, glass equipment, electronic components and other fragile cargo.” The suspension system, claims Suzuki, supports vertical load imposed. Supporting longitudinal, accelerating and deceleration forces between axles and the frame, the system is said to provide chassis isolation. The highlight, avers Suzuki, are extended life of the body and chassis components, reduction in body rattling, reduction in vibrations and ease of maintanence.
