The Indian automobile industry is organising a motor show in Bangladesh in February 2017, claim industry sources. The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) will partner with its counterpart in Bangladesh for the first time. Set to be the first Indian auto industry exhibition in Bangladesh, the fair, christened as ‘Dhaka Automotive Show’, is expected to attract the participation of Indian automakers and ancillary manufacturers. The Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA) will also partner the event, claim sources. They drew attention to the fact that Bangaldesh is solely dependant on imports from countries like Japan, Korea and India. A number of Indian companies have assembly operations in Bangladesh.
