The 19th edition of Fire India International Conference & Exhibition, concluded on a high note, reinforcing its position as South Asia’s foremost fire safety and life protection platform, writes Ashish Bhatia.

Organised by Services International, Fire India — International Conference & Exhibition, held from 25–27 September 2025 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre (NESCO) in Mumbai, concluded on a high note, reinforcing its position as South Asia’s foremost fire safety and life protection platform. The event brought together government officials, industry leaders, fire safety professionals, innovators and global exhibitors under one roof for three days of dynamic engagement, innovation showcases and deep technical dialogue. 

As India moves towards more resilient urbanisation, increased industrial activity, and ambitious infrastructure growth, the importance of fire and life safety systems has escalated. Fire India 2025 reflected this evolution, a decisive pivot from traditional product showcases to a strategic convergence of technology, policy, operational preparedness, and global collaboration. 

This year’s edition drew unprecedented interest. More than 200 exhibitors and 500+ brands from across the world exhibited state-of-the-art technologies and solutions. The event attracted over 22,000 visitors, including firefighters, safety professionals, disaster management officials, corporate stakeholders and government delegates. Representation spanned 20+ countries, further solidifying Fire India’s role as an international hub for fire safety innovation and exchange. The exhibition footprint, from rescue vehicles and alarm systems to live demonstrations and hazard simulation, was vast, reflecting how the industry is innovating across the full spectrum of risk mitigation, emergency response and life protection.

Fire India 2025 was inaugurated by Dr Sudhanshu Sarangi, IPS, Director General, Fire and Emergency Service, Commandant General, Home Guards, and Director, Civil Defence, Odisha. His address set a tone for the event, emphasising preparedness, innovation and cross-border collaboration as key pillars for strengthening fire safety infrastructure nationwide. The conference programme was further enriched by eminent dignitaries, including Dr U. S. Chhillar, Director General, Institution of Fire Engineers (India); Sh Sandeep Gurwara, Managing Director, Services International; Sh Jaideep Gurwara, Managing Director, Globe Publications; Dr O. P. One of the defining features of Fire India 2025 was its emphasis on innovation-driven platforms, where novel solutions were not just displayed but actively demonstrated and interrogated through live interaction. The DemoEx platform provided a hands-on showcase where exhibitors could demonstrate the real-world performance of products and solutions. Technologies ranged from high-capacity fire monitors and suppression systems to advanced rescue tools and protective gear, delivering immersive experiences that resonated strongly with professional attendees.

Dedicated zones highlighted breakthrough technologies from established firms and emerging entrants alike. These included intelligent fire detection systems with integrated analytics. Automated response platforms for high-risk industrial environments. Next-generation personal protection equipment and AI-enabled risk mapping and hazard prediction solutions. The startup spotlight was particularly significant, reinforcing the exhibition’s role not just as a product fair but as an ecosystem enabler that nurtures new talent and encourages cross-sector partnerships. 

The real-time exhibitor narratives brought life to the show floor, emphasising how diverse segments of the fire safety sector found value and purpose at the event. 

Fire India 2025 drew a diverse professional audience, ranging from fire brigade representatives and safety officers to architects, engineers, contractors, facility managers and government departments. The exhibition’s reach encompassed Civil services and disaster management officials, Health & safety executives, OEMs and systems integrators, Consultants and insurance professionals, Facility and infrastructure managers, Fire training officers and academicians and security and risk assessment specialists. This cross-sectional engagement highlights Fire India’s broader impact: it is not only a supplier-to-buyer marketplace, but a knowledge ecosystem where policy, procurement, training and technological adoption converge.

Knowledge Exchange and Policy Dialogue

The accompanying Fire India Conference offered a substantive technical programme designed to foster learning, debate and horizon scanning. Government fire services and disaster response agencies played an active role in Fire India 2025, reinforcing the national priority of strengthening safety standards and preparedness frameworks. Their participation both as visitors and conference speakers elevated the practical relevance of discussions from theoretical to operational. The presence of agencies such as fire service departments from multiple states underscored a key theme: fire safety is a cross-jurisdictional imperative, requiring coordinated action across municipal, industrial and national levels. This facilitated cross-sector dialogue, deal flow and partnership building elements that often become the foundation for future collaborations in technology deployment and market expansion.

Innovation awards celebrated standout contributions to fire safety technology and services. Although individual winners are not listed in the post-event report, the presence of an Innovation Zone showcasing breakthrough solutions from recent years signals the Growing emphasis on R&D, product differentiation and tech adoption as key drivers of industry competitiveness.

Fire India 2026

Building on the success of the 2025 edition, organisers announced that the 20th edition of Fire India will take place at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, from 24–26 September 2026. Plans for the upcoming event emphasise continued focus on fire and life safety innovation, enhanced platforms for education and training and global participation and knowledge exchange. This long-term perspective underscores the event’s evolution from an exhibition to a strategic annual forum shaping fire safety standards, technology adoption and policy discourse.
