The Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, flagged off 100 new DEVi (Delhi Electric Vehicle Interconnector) buses from Narela Terminal. This significant step forward in the city’s green transport journey marks a major milestone in the ongoing electrification of Delhi’s public transport system.
Of the 100 electric buses, 66 are manufactured and supplied by JBM Electric Vehicles. These new electric buses will be operating from Nangloi Depot, enhancing last-mile connectivity and reducing emissions in the western and north-western parts of Delhi. The DEVi initiative continues to play a vital role in transforming Delhi’s public transport network, delivering efficient, safe and eco-friendly solutions for the people of the city.
The newly launched DEVi electric buses are equipped with a suite of advanced features to enhance the passenger experience and safety:
- Real-Time Passenger Information System for live location tracking,
- CCTV surveillance for onboard security,
- Stop request buttons for passenger convenience,
- Fire Detection & Alarm Systems, and
- Vehicle Health Monitoring Systems for proactive maintenance.
- Reserved seats for women
