Continental Tires sponsored a summit facilitated by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways. The summit aimed to raise awareness about road safety and the role of tyres in ensuring the same.
Industry leaders Chirag Katira, General Secretary, All India Motor Transport Congress, and Rohit Baluja, President, Institute of Road Safety Education, shared insights on initiatives taken by the mobility ecosystem to ensure road safety in a panel with Samir Gupta, Head of Central Region, BA Tires APAC, MD, Continental Tires India.
Apart from the panel discussions, the summit also facilitated the people who devoted their lives to the cause of road safety. The ceremony took place in the presence of Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways.
Speaking at the occasion, Samir Gupta, Head of Central Region, BA Tires APAC, MD, Continental Tires India, said, “It is critical to have continued discussions with the industry thought leaders to ideate and implement technologies suited for Indian road conditions. For example, technologies such as Continental’s intelligent tyres and Digital Solutions make data like tyre pressure, wear, temperature, etc. readily available for drivers and fleet owners. These technologies aid in the safety of vehicles on Indian roads while increasing the ease of operation.”
Continental Tires: Vision Zero
The company is continually improving vehicle safety as part of its Vision Zero: Zero Fatalities initiatives, Zero injuries, Zero crashes. For instance, Continental offers tyres with sensors that monitor crucial data such as pressure, wear, and temperature to maintain optimal tyre health and significantly increase safety. The company has also launched tyres with their proprietary ‘Black Chilli’ technology that provides maximum grip on wet or dry roads during acceleration, turning, and braking.
