Apollo Tyres proudly celebrated 25 years of its flagship Healthcare Programme, a pioneering initiative launched in 2000 to enhance the health and well-being of India’s trucking community.
The commemorative event was graced by Rajeev Kumar Sinha, Chief Manufacturing Officer, and Rajesh Dahiya, Vice President, Commercial (India, SAARC, Southeast Asia), Apollo Tyres Ltd, alongside Shri Kultaran Singh Atwal, Former President, All India Motor Transport Congress.
As part of the milestone celebration, Apollo Tyres launched the ‘Swasth Saarthi’ mobile application designed to offer truck drivers easy access to medical support while on the move. The app enables video consultations with doctors and helps locate the nearest Apollo Tyres Healthcare Centre, aiming to reach over 10,000 drivers in its initial phase.
The company also unveiled a white paper titled “Truckers the Backbone of Our Supply Chain”, spotlighting the critical role of truckers in India’s logistics ecosystem. The study reveals that 74% of drivers seek access to medical assistance on the road, with an equal percentage actively using smartphones highlighting the potential of technology-driven healthcare solutions for this essential workforce.

Speaking at the event, Rajeev Kumar Sinha reaffirmed Apollo Tyres’ commitment to its ‘One Family’ values. He emphasised the company’s efforts to extend healthcare services beyond physical centres through Mobile Medical Units and now, the Swasth Saarthi digital platform.
Since its inception, Apollo Tyres’ Healthcare Programme has grown from its pioneering Healthy Highway Project launched in partnership with DFID to address HIV awareness and prevention into a holistic initiative covering vision care, tuberculosis management, and other non-communicable diseases.
Over the last 25 years, the Apollo Tyres Foundation has reached 11 million beneficiaries, conducted more than 1,000 health check-up camps, and established 34 healthcare centres across 21 states, ensuring accessible and quality healthcare for India’s trucking community the backbone of its supply chain.
