LAUGFs RUBBER

In LogiMAT2025, India Chandramouli Jayaraman, Director -Sales & Marketing, gave  a brief overview of his firm, its tyre business, and their future plans.

LAUGFs Holding is a publicly traded company that has been in business since 1995. It has about 25 business verticals. In 2008, they expanded their business to the international market, serving many OEMs. Recognising India as a neighbouring country,  They believe that India and Sri Lanka have always had very positive relations. Since Sri Lanka has always viewed India as a major market, they aimed to be present in India to serve Indian customers and collaborate with OEMs and their distributors to provide high-quality products to the market.

As a whole, material handling is a huge industry. India has become one of the main exporters to other nations. The majority of OEMs are also establishing plants in India. “If I must discuss supply, it’s a German device; if you look at it closely, it’s a Toyota, which is already there in India. In addition, several manufacturers are establishing operations in India due to the presence of rising firms like CS in the country. As a tyre provider, we would undoubtedly like to take advantage of that chance since it is beneficial for our business to sell tyres made in India and to expand internationally,” shared Chandramouli.

A company that manufactures material handling tyres all throughout the world, with the majority of solid tyres created in India and Sri Lanka Due to Sri Lanka’s excellent natural rubber quality, the majority of tyre and rubber manufacturers have established operations there.

LAUGFS Holdings offers a diverse range of material handling equipment, including forklifts, stackers, construction equipment, and specialised equipment for airports and ports. Their product portfolio covers various equipment categories, starting with compact baggage-handling solutions, beginning at a size of 408.

The company also provides high-performance tyres for different applications, including wheel loaders. Their solid and super solid tyres, known as super solids, are available in sizes such as 23.5 and 23.5-25. These tyres are designed to handle various operational intensities, supporting one-shift, two-shift, and three-shift applications, depending on the rigidity of the operation.

A key advantage of their solid tyres is that they are puncture-free, minimising downtime and ensuring greater reliability. Beyond functionality, these tyres play a crucial role in ensuring safety—not just for the equipment, but also for operators, the environment, and the materials being transported. For instance, a forklift carrying 1.5 tons of material effectively replaces 25 man-hours of labour. If a tyre failure occurs, it could lead to severe accidents or fatalities, underscoring the importance of high-quality tyres in industrial applications.

The lifespan of these tyres typically ranges from six months to a year, depending on the intensity of usage. However, LAUGFS Holdings offers a five-year manufacturing warranty, ensuring that customers are protected regardless of their usage patterns. This warranty acts as a form of insurance, providing long-term reliability and peace of mind.

They want to enter the market for all of these equipments, and they also intend to enter the market for rubber tracks for harvesting machines and construction equipment. At the moment, they are attempting to expand the other segments, which are agriculture, construction sites, and large ODR sises. These segments are all pneumatic, essentially like tubeless tyres and cube-type tyres.
