Simple Energy has launched the Simple One electric scooter for Rs 1.10 lakh ex-showroom. It is powered by a 4.5kW motor that develops a claimed max torque figure of 72Nm sent to the rear wheel via a chain drive. It is claimed to be offering a 203km range on Eco mode. The company claims 0-40kmph in just 2.9 seconds. The top speed of the scooter is 98kmph or 105kmph depending on the choice of tyre. The electric scooter offers four riding modes- Eco, Ride, Sonic and Dash. The bike rides on 12-inch wheels on both ends, braking duties are handled by disc brakes and it weighs just 110kg. There are two tyre options available for the scooter, one is a 90/90-12 front and rear tyre and a 100/80-12 (front) and 110/80-12 (rear). The battery takes around 2.75 hours to get charged from 0-80 per cent with the home charger.

The 4.8kWh battery comes in a cuboid shape battery pack encased in a metal outer membrane and it has a handle on top, part of the battery is detachable. The total battery capacity of One is double that of the Ather 450X and the TVS iQube. The recently launches Ola S1 and S1 Pro house a 3.97kWh battery which is lesser than the output of the Simple One. It will be quite interesting to pit the Simple One against its strong contenders in the real world scenario. The One comes with a 7-inch touchscreen that is Bluetooth and 4G compatible. It also includes features like navigation, vehicle tracking, tyre pressure monitoring system(TPMS), music and call control.

It takes on the likes of TVS iQube, Ola S1, Ather 450 Plus to name a few.
