India’s largest passenger car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki, which recently forayed into the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment with the launch of Super Carry, is going to have a dedicated commercial channel for the same. Speaking at the company’s annual general meeting, Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director & CEO expressed that they will have a dedicated commercial (vehicle) channel, which is just right for LCV customers. “We have put in place a dedicated organisation to help us identify and acquire sites for our own retail space,” he added. The company has announced that it would start selling the Super Carry at Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Ludhiana. The sub one-tonne vehicle will be priced at Rs. 4.03 lakh ex-Ahmedabad. Result of an investment of Rs.300 crore, the Super Carry, fitted with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that powers the Eeco is being exported to African markets including South Africa for some time now.
