The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has issued a notification that it has extended the validity of fees for document renewal, claim sources. They mentioned that the extension of validity till June 30, 2020, applies to those whose documents could not be renewed because of the lockdown. Drawing attention to the circular by MoRTH that documents, which expired from February 01, 2020 under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989, were deemed valid till June 30, 2020 by ministry, sources informed that the respective ministry gave necessary instructions to all enforcement authorities regarding the same.
