Hitachi Automotive Systems India is banking on electrification and autonomous vehicle systems. The components division of the company showcased a range of electric and autonomous driving systems at Auto Expo 2018. These are aimed at evolving vehicles and are in-line with the environment and safety standards the company has come to adhere to. Catering to the OEM and the aftermarket in India, the company, in the area of autonomous driving is offering solutions that respond to regulations for environmental conservation. The solutions are created by coordinating 360-degree sensing technology and safety control technology to reduce traffic accidents and traffic jams. To improve fuel consumption, Hitachi is offering highly efficient next-generation gasoline engine parts. These are particularly instrumental in improving fuel consumption, increasing combustion efficiency and heat exchange.
Tata Hitachi, a 40:60 joint venture between Tata Motors and Hitachi Construction Machinery Company, showcased its product line-up encompassing a wide range of excavators from 2-tonne to 800-tonne, 35-tonne to 290-tonne rigid dump trucks, wheel loaders, backhoe loaders and motor graders at the IMME fair, Kolkata. Leveraging technology to build strong products and stronger relationships, the company inroduced shovel variant of the ZAXIS470 tracked excavator at the fair. Banking on over five decades of experience in developing world-class products, the company, with manufacturing plants at Jamshedpur, Dharwad and Kharagpur, is upgrading its existing products apart from introducing new products to maximise business opportunities and address customer needs. Working towards offering IT enabled solutions, the company, has been offering features like online access to location of equipment, online health monitoring system, etc. The company has been investing in a strong distribution network too. Tata Hitachi rolled out the 50,000th construction equipment from its Dharwad plant recently. The equipment, a hydraulic excavator, EX200LC, was delivered to Ms. DRN Infrastructure, Hubli. The infrastructure company, which deploys over 100 Tata Hitachi machines in their projects, operates in Karnataka and Maharshtra on irrigation and road constructon projects. The hydraulic excavator, to find use in the projects that the company undertakes, was chosen for its fine properties of reliability and efficiency. Interestingly, the same infrastructure company, in 2006, took delivery of the 10,000th machine made by Tata Hitachi at its plant at Dharwad. Present on the occasion were R N Nayak and Dinesh R Nayak of DRN Infrastructure, and K Kimura, Alt. Director and Sr. Advisor, Tata Hitachi. The Dharwad plant of Tata Hitachi was commissioned in 1998, and is spread over 118 acres. Catering to mini and midi-excavator and backhoe loader segments, 60 per cent of Tata Hitachi’s production rolls out of the Dharwad plant.
