Samvardhana Motherson International Limited (SAMIL) has announced the acquisition of MS Global India Pvt. Ltd. (MSGI). SAMIL has acquired a 100 per cent stake in MSGI from Korea-based MS Group. With a manufacturing facility at Chennai, MSGI, a Rs.3.5 billion entity, supplies Cabin-in-White (pressed sheet metal) and frames for chassis for commercial vehicles. Having an exclusive license to use MS Group’s hot stamping technology in India, claimed to be playing an important role in lthe ight-weighting of vehicles (including electric vehicles). Hinting at synergies at play, V.C. Sehgal, Group Chairman, SAMIL, expressed that the acquisition of MSGI would increase his company’s offerings in terms of content per vehicle.
