Tata Motors has appointed Guenter Butschek as the Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director effective February 15, 2016. Butschek will lead all operations of Tata Motors in India and in international markets including South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia and South Africa except Jaguar Land Rover, which would continue to be managed by its Chief Executive Officer and Director, Dr Ralf Speth. Announcing the appointment of Butschek, Cyrus P. Mistry, Chairman, Tata Motors, said, “ Butschek’s appointment comes at an opportune moment. He brings with him rich global experience of growing organisations and developing new markets. I am confident that Butschek’s ability to lead high performing teams will enable our company to achieve sustainable, profitable growth.” Prior to joining Tata Motors, Butschek served Airbus Group as the Chief Operating Officer and the Member of the Group Executive Committee. Butschek served at Daimler AG for more than 25 years in international automotive management. He led functions like production, industrialisation and procurement at Daimler AG.
