Greaves Cotton has signed up with Piaggio Vehicles to develop new generation powertrain applications. The applications include solutions that meet BSVI emission norms using diesel and other alternate fuels as a source of combustion. The development comes in the wake of the close association between the two companies. Greaves Cotton has been supplying Piaggio with engines for quite some time. It has sold more than five-million engines out of its plants at Aurangabad and Ranipet (Chennai). Selling more than 300,000 automotive engines in FY2016-17, Greaves Cotton also caters to non-automotive segments like boats, construction equipment, and farm equipment. It has over 3,500 retail outlets pan-India. Over 9000 trained technicians of the company provide service.
