FAG Bearings, a Schaeffler Group company, is optimistic about growth in India. There is a rider though, that the key initiatives to implement operational excellence are accelerated, and executed such that it helps to build a long term competitive advantage. In line with its strategic concept, ‘Mobility for Tomorrow’, the company continues to focus on four areas – eco-friendly drivers, urban mobility, inter-urban mobility and energy chain. In FY2015-16, the company’s total income was Rs.18,821.6 million, up 5.7 per cent, as compared to the previous year’s income of Rs.17,805.9 million. Profit Before Tax (PBT) was Rs.2,984.5 million, and marked a growth of 1.6 per cent over the earlier financial year. If technology and innovation driven sector sales registered good growth, the sales performance of aftermarket and distributor sector suffered because of price and cash pressure. Exports growth was stable last year. Continuing to focus on high volume business, and expand production of ball-bearings at the Savli plant, the company, for FY2016-17, maintained a positive outlook over short-to-medium term; in commercial vehicles particularly. The company supplies bearing solutions for transmission applications and expects to benefit from anticipated growth.
