SAFE Annual Convention 2016 copy
A move to cleaner environment and road engineering was the highlight of the annual convention organised by the Society for Automotive Fitness & Environment (SAFE), a SIAM initiative in association with Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Transport Department, Government of Rajasthan and Rajasthan Police, at Jaipur recently. Highlighting the rising concerns of environment related issues due to vehicular emissions and the need to well engineer the construction of roads in India, in his speech, Dr. N Saravanan, President, SAFE, said that they have been working for 17 years towards creating awareness on road safety by organising campaigns across the country. A lot has been done by auto manufacturers in reducing road fatalities, it is now time for the NGOs and the media to work jointly in educating and also alarming people towards safe driving said Abhay Damle, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport, Shipping & Highways. Yunus Khan, Minister of Public Works & Transport, Rajasthan, mentioned that awareness for road safety is on the rise. Automobile manufacturers should focus on setting up motor training schools to train drivers.
