In Bollywood movie ‘Welcome’, Actor Nana Patekar who played the role of a dreaded gangster Uday Shetty was shown enjoying massage service in the backdrop Chevrolet C 10 pick up truck next to the treehouse. Released in 2004, the movie made in comedy genre was blockbuster starring Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Paresh Rawal and Anil Kapoor. The plot revolves around protagonist Rajiv Saini played by Akshay Kumar who falls in love with Uday Shetty’s sister Sanjana Shetty played by Katrina Kaif. Rajiv’s guardian Dr Dayal Ghungaroo rejects their relationship because of Uday Shetty’s gangster image in the society. The couple tries to change the lifestyle of Uday and Majnu Bhai played by Anil Kapoor. Chevrolet 1977 C10 pick up was featured in a scene where a municipal commissioner Purushottam played by actor Paresh Ghantara visit Uday Shetty to demolish the illegal treehouse owned by Uday Shetty’s Boss RDX. In the scene, yellow Chevrolet Silverado c10 pick up truck could be seen next to the treehouse in which Purshottam arrives and introduce himself to Uday Shetty. Uday then asks his men sarcastically to escort Purushottam and assist him to demolish violently and send him back home.

The C/K series was produced across four generations, introduced in 1960, 1967, 1973, and 1988. The 1977 Chevrolet C-10 pickup truck was available with a choice of engines. The 4.1-litre 250-cubic-inch inline-six engine came standard in the C-10 which offered 100 horsepower at 3,600 rpm with 237 N.m of torque at 2,000 rpm. An optional inline-six was 292 cubic inches and 4.8 liters with 120 horsepower at 3,600 rpm with 305 N.m of torque at 2,000 rpm. The high-output 454 cubic inch 7.4-liter engine had 230 horsepower at 4,000 rpm with 481 N.m of torque at 2,800 rpm. The medium output 350-cubic-inch engine had 155 horsepower at 3,600 rpm with 305 N.m at 2,400 rpm. Finally, Chevrolet offered the 307 cubic inch with 115 horsepower at 3,600 rpm with 277 N.mf of torque at 2,000 rpm. General Motors introduced its first pickup truck in 1930, the term “Silverado” was a designation used only to detail the trim for the Chevrolet C/K pickup trucks, Suburbans, and Tahoes from 1975 through 1999. The wheelbase length of the pickup truck was extended to 117.5 in (2,985 mm) for the short wheelbase pickups, and 131.5 in (3,340 mm) for the long-wheelbase pickups.
